Math Vocabulary Freebie

What?
A second blog post from me this week?
It's a miracle!
Should I be starting my plans for next week?
Yes!
Am I going to do that?
NO!

What I will do instead is link up with
My district is really pushing math vocabulary this year.
We are expected to teach at least five minutes
of direct math vocab each day.

One activity I've been using is
Be A Mind Reader.
I choose one of the words on the math word wall.
Then I give the students five clues.
After each clue, the students write down a guess.
By the end of the clues, they should know the word.

Here is the example from this week.
1.  It's a word on the word wall.
2.  It has two syllables. (Grammar skill!)
3.  It is related to multiplication.
4.  It starts with a blend.  (Spelling skill!)
5.  It tells the answer to a multiplication equation.

Did you guess the answer?

I'd love to hear how you incorporate math vocabulary
into your lessons.

Do you want a freebie?
