Did you know it is Currently October?

Did you remember to change the 9 to a 10 on the date today?
If so, then the first thing that came to your mind
was it's time for...

My husband is listening to Storage Wars and I no longer
hear my daughter walking around.
Let's see how long that lasts!

The district I'm in just started math CCSS this year.
I was a bit worried about starting the year
with multiplication and division.
The kids are doing great!
I've been trying to get a student "check-up" in every few days.
This is really helping me to assess my students.

Two more weeks until Parent/Teacher conferences!
All the "check-ups" will pay off
because I can give the parents a very clear picture
of how their child is doing in class.

Anyone know the Cleaning Fairy?
If so, can you please send her to my house?
Thank you!

Who doesn't need more time?
I bet the Cleaning Fairy has plenty of time
because she isn't doing her job at my house!

My "treat" is an awesome CCSS website I found.
and it will take you to the site.

Hope you have a great October!

Currently - September Edition

Can you believe it's already September?
That means it's time for me to link up with Farley for...

Listening:  My husband has our older daughter and they are at the Home Depot.
The younger one is sleeping.
It's so quiet!

Loving:  Who doesn't love a three day weekend?
I especially love it when the rest of the family is also home with me.

Thinking:  I got no school work done with weekend.
It was nice to just sit back and relax.
Of course, today will be a work, work, work day to
get it all done.

Wanting:  I want to make some oatmeal muffins
and a chicken for the week.
I freeze the muffins and take them out the night before.
Then they are ready for my breakfast.

Needing:  If I want to get the cooking and school work
done, then I will need a few extra hours today!

Goals:
#1 - I ran a 1/2 marathon race last weekend.
Now that it is over, I need to keep up with my running.
#2 - Last year I would make meals on the weekend
and freeze them for during the week.
September is my month to get that going again.
#3 - I really need to relax.
I'm getting stressed out with everything at school
and keeping my home in order.
Let's see if I can do it.

Have a great week!

August Currently

Can you believe it is August?
A friend of mine posted on Facebook
that today is every teachers nightmare.

Agree or disagree?

I have mixed feelings about it.
One reason I like the first of August
is so I can link up with Farley for

My font was created by Wizard of Boz.

Listening:
It is completely silent in my house.
My four year old has been having a tough
time going to sleep lately.
I tried to keep her really busy today
and I think it worked.
She didn't make any noise.

I spoke too soon.
She just came out of her room!

Loving:
Tomorrow is a day most teachers look forward to -
Getting into our classrooms!
Here is the good news -
I won't be able to leave my classroom.
My room is off the library
and the floors are getting waxed tomorrow.
That means I can get in and out
of my room from the outside,
but I won't be able to walk around the school.

Thinking:
My birthday is August 6th.
I think my birthday is more meaningful
now that I have kids.
They get so excited for my birthday,
that I get excited!

Wanting:
I think I mention this every month.
I live in the Chicago area
and July/August are supposed to be hot.
It hasn't been above 80 lately
and I don't like it!
You know my favorite hot and humid
weather will show up once school starts
and I can't go outside to enjoy it.

Needing:
I'm great at washing/drying everything
and then not folding it.
I need to get that done soon!

B2S Must Haves:
1.  A new coffee mug - Just a fun way to start the year.
2. Krista Wallden Clip art - I love her work and can't decide
what to buy.  Any of her stuff will look so cute on school materials.
Here are a few I want to buy.
Borders MEGA Pack 2 {Creative Clips Digital Clipart}Colored Clipboard Clipart {Creative Clips Digital Clipart}KIDS Big Bundle! {Creative Clips Digital Clipart}
3.  Something special for yourself - Buy something to make
you feel good on the first day of school.
You can get a haircut,
some new jewelry or a special new outfit.
It's your big day too!

I'm off to read some other responses.
I want to see what else everyone things I need to get!
Enjoy.

July Currently

It must be summer.
How do I know?
Because all of the teachers are getting
their "Currently" filled in before the month even starts!

So here is mine...
Fonts by Wizard of Boz

Listening:  My daughter is a big fan of My Little Pony.
I laugh because I used to play with them
many, many years ago too.
Of course, she also loves her superheroes, princesses, cars...

Loving:  Those of you who have been following me
know that I've made a bunch of activities for our
family road trip.  Well, this is the month we go to NC.
I can't wait!

Thinking:  Another exciting event in July will be on Wednesday
when Matt from Digital: Divide and Conquer and I start
a new linky.
We both have been a part of so many great link-ups
and thought we might also try it out.
Matt and I hope that this will be a quick and easy linky.

An example could be...

Win:  The Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup
or some other great event in your life.
Maybe it was a new product you tried out.

Loss:  It keeps raining and the hot weather went away.
Was there something you tried and it didn't work?

A Thing of Cost:  Share a product you made
or something you bought at the store.

The point is we want it to be fun and
all about you!

Wanting:  We had some days of hot weather
and now it is back in the 70's.
That is too cold for me!

Needing:  A summer goal was to organize
all the closets in my house.
Maybe this week it will happen?

Tip, Trick, Hint:  Sometimes I worry when others
are posting everyday.
I have to remember that I need to do what works for me.
Blogging everyday doesn't work and that is alright!

Have a wonderful July!!

Currently....A June Linky

So here we are again, sharing our thoughts.
As I was filling in my June Currently, it finally hit me....
FOUR MORE DAYS OF SCHOOL!
I can't wait to have some time at home with my girls
and just try and get my life in order.

Thank you to Farley for setting this up once again.

Listening:  We are cheering on our Blackhawks this year.
My sister is a HUGE fan and so I like to follow the team just so I know what is going on!

Loving:  In my district, we still write our report cards by hand.
I need to go and find some white out tomorrow, because I made a few mistakes.
The positive part is we don't have to write any comments.
Report cards go home on Thursday, so I'm really glad to be done early for once.

Thinking:  Once again....4 more days of school!

Wanting:  We had a few days of temps in the 80's and now we were back in the 60's.
This week we are supposed to be in the 70's.
I really, really, really want the warm weather to come back.

Needing:  I need to sit down and make a summer bucket list for the home.
There are a bunch of projects I want to complete and I love to have lists.
I'll save the list making until Friday, my first day of break.

Vacation Essentials:  My family is going on vacation in July and so
I thought about what I need to bring with me.
What else could I need?

Two Linkies!

It's the start of a new month, so that means April Linkies.
I have linked up with two for this month.

The first one is with Farley and her Currently Linky.

Listening: We were laughing at the Wonder Woman comic.  It made Diana such a stereotypical woman.  She became a nurse so she could take care of the man she loved.

Loving:  Have you noticed that the sun is starting to stay out just a little bit longer?

Thinking:  There are so many other things I should be doing instead of this.  Oh well.  This is more fun.

Wanting:  I really dislike winter.  We had a few days in the 50's and now we are back in the 30's.  I really want it to warm up.

Needing:  My second daughter turns 1 year old in a few days.  I love watching my kids grow, but I wish we could keep them little for a bit longer.

Advice:  There are so many awesome teachers and creators on Tpt.  It is so hard not to compare yourself to other people.  Do what works for you and be proud of your accomplishments.

I am also linking up with Jessica from Literacy Spark for her Anticipating the Month Ahead Linky.

Looking Forward To:  I actually am looking forward to a month of no interruptions at school.  We have no field trips, assemblies, holidays, institute days, etc.  It will be nice to have a regular schedule for a while.

Dreading:  I am dreading having to get report cards done.  The quarter ends on Wednesday and then report cards go home the following Wednesday.  Our report cards are not done electronically, so it takes a while to write in all the grades.

Hoping to Accomplish:  I would like to sew some skirts for my daughters to wear over the summer.  I won't sew them until the summer, but I want to start getting some of the fabric now.  That gives me time to wash/iron the materials and get the pattern cut out.  Let's see if that happens!

Hope your week is off to a good start!

March Currently

Today I am linking up with Oh' Boy 4th Grade for the March Currently.

Listening - I love watching my two kids play and here what they have to say.  Of course, the ten month old only says, "Da," but that is still super cute.

Loving - It is March and that means it is almost spring.  I really don't like winter.

Thinking - The state tests take place for the next six mornings.  I don't mind them, but they disrupt the kids' schedules.

Wanting - The current prediction is 3-6 inches of snow during the night on Monday.  As I mentioned earlier, I don't like winter.

Needing - You know how it is with two kids.  I would much rather spend my weekend playing with them than cleaning my house.

Like - June because it is the start of summer and summer is my favorite season.

Love - Jogging has helped the baby weight come off and I feel so much better afterwards.

Hate - Jealousy can bring on so many problems and unnecessary stress.

So there you have it - my March Currently.
Go link up with Oh' Boy and don't forget her rule of three!
